What helped stop the advance of the occupiers on Pokrovsk

Thanks to the Kursk operation, Ukrainian military forces were able to stop the advance of Russian occupiers on Pokrovsk. This is because the enemy cannot be active in all directions simultaneously.

This was stated by Roman Kostenko, the Secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence, in a comment to the YouTube channel RBK-Ukraine.

"If activity is observed in one direction, then obviously, the enemy cannot be active on all fronts. We have seen throughout the war that if the enemy becomes active somewhere, other directions for them are not as active. It was noted that when there was a focus on Pokrovsk, Kursk was idle, and now the situation is the opposite, with Pokrovsk being idle," Kostenko noted.

According to him, the Russian advance on Pokrovsk was halted by the Armed Forces of Ukraine under the leadership of Andriy Hnatov, a general appointed as the Chief of the General Staff.

"His great merit lies in halting this advance on Pokrovsk. After him, General Mykhailo Drapatyi took over the cause, who is also very diligently and professionally holding back the enemy," Kostenko added.

He noted that both Hnatov and Drapatyi are professional generals.

"One could say that if the reserves drawn away thanks to the Kursk operation were used on these fronts - Pokrovsk or Kharkiv - it is difficult to predict whether the situation would remain the same, or whether Pokrovsk would remain under our control," the Secretary of the VR Committee emphasized.
