In Ukraine, the bank accounts of 26,000 citizens were blocked for violating mobilization rules
In Ukraine, due to violations of mobilization rules, bank accounts of 26,000 citizens have been blocked.
This was reported by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.
Accounts can be blocked pursuant to a court decision in cases where a conscript does not pay fines for evading mobilization.
"For mobilization violations, the accounts of 26,000 individuals are currently blocked," the press service of the Ministry of Justice reported upon request from RBC Ukraine.
They added that updated data on the number of account blocks will be available after April 1.
It is noteworthy that in Ukraine, for nearly a year, stricter mobilization rules have been in place: fines of 17,000 to 25,000 UAH are stipulated for individuals for late updates to registration data or failure to appear at the Territorial Center of Recruitment and Social Support (TRC) upon summons. For legal entities, the amounts are higher. This is regulated by Article 210 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of Ukraine.
When a fine is imposed, the TRC transfers the case to the police, who place the individual on the wanted list. In case of further non-payment of imposed fines, additional penalties may be applied, including account arrest or revocation of driving privileges. The final decision to block accounts is made exclusively by the court.
To avoid court cases and account blocking, lawyers advise not to ignore fines and to pay them, and preferably resolve this issue during a personal visit to the TRC and SS.
