In Volyn, an armed man shot a gamekeeper and his wife: the woman died

In the Volyn region, an unknown man with a firearm attacked a local gamekeeper and his wife.

The gamekeeper was injured, and his wife was killed, reported the press service of the branch of the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine" "Polissia Forestry Office" on Sunday, March 30.

According to the branch, the attack occurred on the evening of March 29, when the couple was driving through the forest to their home in the Volodymyr district of the region. On the way, the gamekeeper noticed a suspicious man on a motorcycle with a weapon and decided to keep an eye on him.

"The unknown person with the weapon lost control and fell on the road. The gamekeeper stopped, got out of the car, and then received a gunshot wound. His wife rushed out of the car to help. The attacker opened fire in her direction as well," reported the press service of the "Forests of Ukraine" branch.

The woman died from her injuries on the way to the hospital. The gamekeeper’s condition was stabilized by doctors.

Currently, law enforcement is searching for the criminal. The police have not yet commented on the situation.
