The number of Russian troops in Ukraine has reached 623,000 people, - Syrskyi

The number of Russian troops involved in combat operations on the territory of Ukraine has reached 623,000 people, stated the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.

According to him, the Russians increase their grouping by 8-9 thousand people monthly, which amounts to 120-130 thousand per year.

Syrskyi noted that since the beginning of the year, the number of Russian troops in Ukraine has increased by 20,000, and he explained this process by significant cash payments that the Russians offer to their soldiers. Contract servicemen can receive from 20 to 40 thousand dollars, while regular soldiers receive from 2.5 thousand dollars.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also emphasized that Russia’s total mobilization resource is 20 million people, of whom 5 million have completed military service and have military training.

"This is a huge potential," stated Syrskyi, emphasizing that Ukraine cannot afford such scales of mobilization.
