President dismissed Artyukh from the position of Head of the Sumy Regional State Administration
On Tuesday, April 15, the Cabinet approved the decision to dismiss the Head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Volodymyr Artyukh. Oleh Hryhorov was appointed in his place.
This was reported by the permanent representative of the government to the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk.
Artyukh had headed the Sumy Regional Military Administration since spring 2023. The decision to dismiss him was made at a Cabinet meeting.
Alongside this, Oleh Hryhorov, the head of the main department of the National Police in the Luhansk region, will be appointed as the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration.
Changes in the region’s leadership occurred after the Sumy Regional Council registered a draft resolution on no confidence in Artyukh on April 14. Earlier, on April 13, Sumy suffered a double missile strike from the Russian Federation.
The Mayor of Konotop (Sumy region), Artem Semenikhin, believes that on the day of the attack, Artyukh organized an award ceremony for the 117th Territorial Defence Brigade at the city’s congress center. Artyukh himself assures that he was not the initiator of the event and was merely an invitee.
