A massive attack on Kharkiv: "Iskanders" hit a residential area, more than 40 injured

On the night of April 18, Russia launched a massive missile strike on Kharkiv, using three "Iskander" complex missiles, one of which was equipped with a cluster warhead. The explosion occurred directly near a multi-story residential building.

This was reported by Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov.

According to the mayor, the attack hit a densely populated area of the city. At least one confirmed dead and over 40 injured have been reported so far. Among the victims are two children aged 4 and 2.8 years.

According to the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, more than 20 apartment buildings and over 30 private homes were damaged. People may remain under the rubble, and search and rescue operations are ongoing.

Eyewitnesses report that the blast wave shattered windows in dozens of apartments, and doors and balconies in entrances are completely destroyed. Emergency services, firefighters, and medics are working on the scene.
