The Verkhovna Rada ratified the agreement with the USA on subsurface resources

Thus, today the parliament ratified exactly the intergovernmental agreement that allows the creation of an Investment Fund.

Prior to this, the ratification was approved by the committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and the Cabinet of Ministers submitted the necessary documents, including an explanatory note, the text of the agreement itself, and registration.

Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade Representative of Ukraine Taras Kachka previously explained that there are two additional technical agreements that the parties will sign later. However, they do not need to be ratified in the Verkhovna Rada.

"We have clearly identified what needs to be ratified by the Verkhovna Rada and what should remain at the corporate level. At the same time, deputies retain the right to parliamentary control," he noted.

The First Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Economy Yuliya Svyrydenko explained in her interview that other agreements will have a commercial nature and will no longer be signed by the government.

From the Ukrainian side, the signatory will be the Agency for Public-Private Partnership Support (PPP). From the US side, the signatory will be the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC).

"Currently, the documents are being finalized, but there are a number of issues on which fundamental agreements have been reached - exactly those that we publicly announced," she noted.
