President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the recent conversation with Donald Trump in his video address, emphasizing the role of the United States in stopping the war in Ukraine. According to the head of state, America has the influence to persuade Russia to agree to a 30-day ceasefire.

“It is essential for the Russians to support a ceasefire. They have to prove their willingness to end the war. Thirty days, which can become the beginning of the summer of peace,” Zelenskyy said.

The President also noted that a true, lasting, and reliable ceasefire would be a real signal of moving towards peace.

“America can help with this. The world needs America just as it did 80 years ago,” he added, hinting at the historical role of the United States in ending World War II.
