The Armed Forces of Ukraine explained the "ancient logic" of Russian attacks on motorcycles near Toretsk
The Russians are conducting attacks near Toretsk, using motorcycles for quick maneuvers. The Armed Forces of Ukraine explained this as "ancient logic" to reduce losses.
This was reported by Viktor Trehubov, the spokesperson for the operational-strategic group of troops "Khortytsia," during a telethon.
Russian forces are actively using motorcycles during attacks in the Toretsk area in Donetsk region to break through Ukrainian defences.
According to him, this logic comes from ancient times: the use of fast mobile vehicles for attacks on flanks.
"This was practically the same logic since ancient times. You take something fast - either a horse or a chariot - and try to engage on the flank," he noted.
In the modern context, these are motorcycles that the Russian military uses to break through at the junctions of the control zones of the units where there is less surveillance.
"A motorcycle as a means of transportation helps quickly overcome the so-called kill-zone, an area shot through by drones. And if compared to armored vehicles, if a drone hits, it will destroy not 10 people in one APC, but one person on a motorcycle," Trehubov explained.
The tactic of using motorcycles allows the occupiers to quickly break through to the second line of defence and hold positions while waiting for reinforcements.
The Ukrainian forces continue to repel attacks in this direction.
