Umyerov announced "established communication with the Russian side" for prisoner exchange

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has established permanent contact with Russia for the implementation of agreements on the exchange of prisoners.

This was informed by Minister Umyerov.

«Communication with the Russian side has been established regarding the stages of agreement implementation. Their realization is a crucial test of the sincerity of intentions to continue negotiations and to bring closer the cessation of hostilities,» the statement noted.

Umerov also informed that the head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Budanov held a staff meeting to implement the agreements reached during the negotiations in Istanbul.

«We discussed the start of the implementation of the "all for all" exchange formula for certain categories of servicemen. Specific steps were identified for the return of seriously ill, severely wounded soldiers, as well as young military personnel under 25 who are in enemy captivity. Special attention was given to the issue of repatriation of the bodies of fallen soldiers located in temporarily occupied territories or in Russia,» the minister stated.
