Russian troops failed in their attempts to improve their tactical position in the area of Kostyantynivka, and the enemy had to retreat.

This was reported on the air of FREEДОМ by General of the Ukrainian Army, former head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, Mykola Malomuzh.

According to him, part of the troops that were operating near Kostyantynivka have now been redirected by the enemy to the Pokrovsk direction.

Malomuzh emphasized that currently the Russians are ready to use all possible means to advance in this direction. Now, with additional manpower, the Russian army is trying to create encirclement pockets of certain groups of Ukrainian troops.

"However, we are counterattacking, so the enemy has no prospects here. Nevertheless, the situation remains complicated as the enemy continues to build up resources," he noted.
