Israel attacked Iran: about 950 UAVs and three F-14 fighters destroyed
On the evening of June 21, the Israeli Air Force carried out a series of airstrikes on central Iran. This time, the Israelis targeted military facilities in the country. About a thousand UAVs intended for attacks on Israel, three Iranian fighter jets, and several military personnel were destroyed.
In total, 60 Israeli fighter jets were involved in the operation, reported the spokesman for the Israel Defence Forces, Brigadier General Effie Defrin. According to him, the Iranian Air Force lost three F-14 fighters on the ground.
American-made F-14 Tomcats were transferred to Iran before the 1979 Islamic Revolution and are considered among the last still in operation.
Among other targets, a building housing Iranian military establishments was struck. Reports indicate that this building contained the headquarters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and the Iranian cyber police.

Separately, General Effie Defrin noted that during one of the precise strikes, Behnam Shahriyari, a high-ranking IRGC military official and head of the Quds Force Unit 190, was liquidated. Shahriyari was believed to be overseeing the supply of weapons to Iranian proxies. Notably, he was responsible for transferring weapons to Hezbollah terrorists, Hamas, and the Houthis.
Behnam Shahriyari (also known by the pseudonyms Seyyed Ali Akbar Mir Vakili, Seyyed Hamid Reza Shakhcheraghi, and Hojjatollah Narimani) had been a target of Israeli intelligence since 2009. The IDF stated that his death is "a significant blow to Iran’s proxy network" and "their ability to re-arm themselves."
Effie Defrin also emphasized that during the latest Israeli Air Force strike, "at least 950 Iranian drones" were destroyed, which Iranians had planned to launch at Israel shortly.
"Apart from defensive actions, the Air Force systematically destroys the command chains of the Iranian drone unit. These strikes have already disrupted synchronized attacks and neutralized about 950 explosive drones before their launch," the IDF spokesman emphasized.
According to him, "Iran’s capabilities to launch ballistic missiles and drones have significantly deteriorated." Over the past week, more than a thousand drones were launched from Iran towards Israel, but "only a few violated Israeli airspace."
"Most of their drones are intercepted before they cross Israel’s borders. This is an unprecedented achievement. Their missile launching capabilities today are also far from what they were when we began the military operation," reported General Effie Defrin.
