Russian attack on Kyiv: one person killed, fire station and publishing house damaged
Rescuers discovered the body of the first victim of the nighttime shelling of Kyiv, reports the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES).
26 people were injured.
The shelling in Kyiv damaged a fire station, clarifies the SES.
Public sources report that this station is located in the Solomianskyi district. Nearby, in Vidradne, a residential building was seriously damaged.
According to NASA data, there were intense fires in this neighborhood in the morning.
The large-scale combined attack by Russia on Kyiv on the night of July 4, 2025, damaged the well-known publishing house "Nash Format." Due to the shelling, the facade of the warehouse was significantly destroyed, and there was damage inside the premises. As a result of the fire and its extinguishing, a portion of the books stored in the warehouse, which had not yet been shipped to customers, were destroyed.

The publishing house reported this on its Facebook page. The "Nash Format" team noted: the main thing is that no one was injured, and we will reprint the books and restore the building. They warned that book shipments are temporarily suspended until next week but will be resumed.
"The website and call center of the online store are operational, and we are ready to answer any questions about orders. We plan to resume shipments next week. Thank you to all the readers for your understanding. We know what we are fighting for. We publish books that develop strength, critical thinking, and dignity – what Russia fears most. So, don’t expect it. We are working, we will stand firm, and we will win," the publishing house’s statement said.
In the comments, Kyiv residents express sincere support for their favorite publishing house and thank them for their contribution to the development of the Ukrainian nation. "Nash Format," specializing in non-fiction literature, publishes world bestsellers about business, self-development, economics, psychology, and success stories. Their team has recorded nearly 200 audiobooks in Ukrainian, and the first bookstore selling books in Ukrainian opened in Kyiv back in 2006.
