SBGS: The RF has intensified assaults in the Sumy region with small groups, and the use of drones is increasing

Russian troops continue to shell the border areas of the Sumy region, actively using all types of weapons, drones, and conducting assaults with small infantry groups.

This was stated by the spokesman of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Andriy Demchenko, on the TV broadcast.

According to him, the entire 550-kilometer section of the border with Russia is under attack. Since the beginning of the year, the intensity of drone attacks has significantly increased - FPV, with explosive charges, as well as fiber-optic drones. Also used are GABs, artillery, and aviation bombs.

The spokesman of the State Border Guard Service specifically emphasized the threat in the areas of the Khotyn and Yunakivka communities, where the enemy is assaulting positions with small groups. However, Ukrainian forces have stabilized the situation and regularly destroy enemy infantry. According to him, the enemy has not managed to advance.

Demchenko suggests that Russia may try to intensify its actions in this area, but there are currently no signs of equipment or resource accumulation for a large-scale offensive.

"Perhaps they either do not have enough equipment or are saving it for some future actions. Or the enemy understands perfectly well that the appearance of a column of equipment in the direction of our border means its immediate destruction," Demchenko said.
