"Planning new long-range strikes": Zelenskyy held a meeting with the military
In Ukraine, changes will be made in regulatory, financial, and personnel areas to increase weapons production and enhance the state’s defense autonomy.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on Facebook.
The head of state held a meeting with Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi and Chief of the General Staff Andriy Hnatov, during which they discussed the situation in key defense directions: Pokrovsk, Novopavlivsk, and in Zaporizhzhya, Kharkiv, and Sumy regions.
“We observe the enemy’s intentions and attempts to develop offensive actions, and it is important that every such attempt is stopped thanks to the resilience of our units and active defence,” emphasized Zelenskyy.
According to him, the Russian army significantly does not meet the expectations of its command for this summer.
“Our units will continue to destroy the occupiers and do everything possible to transfer the war to Russian territory. We are preparing new long-range strikes,” the President declared.
Zelenskyy emphasized that there will be an unwaveringly harsh response to every Russian strike on Ukrainians.
“The Commander-in-Chief reported the completely justified destruction of Russian murderers who took the life of a one-year-old boy in Kherson region,” informed the head of state.
They separately discussed the preparation for General Kellogg’s visit to Ukraine and work with partners regarding the supply of weapons and the expansion of joint production of necessary defense means.
According to Zelenskyy, about 40% of the weapons for defense are produced in Ukraine.
“Our task is to significantly increase this figure, and thus, the defense autonomy of our state. In this context, necessary changes will be introduced, including regulatory, financial, and personnel,” the President stated.
