The UK denies asylum to Ukrainians, calling returning home an "emotionally stable" decision

The authorities of the United Kingdom have begun to massively deny Ukrainian refugees asylum, arguing that returning to Ukraine is supposedly safe and even beneficial from an emotional perspective.

This is reported by lawyer Daiha Barzdina, who handles cases of Ukrainians in the UK. She publishes quotes from official rejections received by applicants.

"Children are resilient. Returning to Ukraine with their parents will provide them emotional stability. In western regions such as Ternopil, schools continue to operate," states a response to a family with a child.

Another family with a child with autism received a rejection with the argument:

"You can return. Parents will provide everything necessary."

Meanwhile, British officials refer to the "safety" of certain regions of Ukraine, despite the fact that the UK’s Foreign Ministry officially advises against its citizens traveling even to these areas due to the threat of shelling.

Barzdina also reminds that according to WHO and UNICEF data, a significant portion of Ukrainian children suffer from anxiety disorders, have disrupted education due to power outages and shelling, and access to medical care is limited.

The lawyer considers such refusals to be unfounded and ignoring real threats to the life and health of Ukrainians.
