The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is currently working on amendments to the Election Code, but the process of returning to the pre-war state will not be swift.

This was stated by the Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Iryna Mudra, during a television marathon.

In response to a question about how voting in the elections will be conducted, Mudra emphasized that the situation the country finds itself in after the war will be taken into account. The aspect of transitional justice will also be considered.

"Thus, returning to the pre-war state and conducting elections as we did before the war will not be possible quickly. Of course, the entire specificity of the situation after the war will be taken into account, and accordingly, legislative acts will be adopted that will make it possible to conduct elections after the war," she noted.

The Deputy Head of the Presidential Office also emphasized that today there are no conditions that ensure safety for holding elections.

"And for all citizens to return, in order to participate in the elections," noted Iryna Mudra.
