In the Poltava region, a man with amputated legs was convicted of evading mobilization, — court
This was reported by the district court of Poltava region.
According to the case materials, a resident of the Poltava region received a summons on August 24, 2024, after which he was supposed to report to the military recruitment office but "evaded" the call-up.
The man admits his guilt but notes that a day before receiving the summons, he was hospitalized due to poisoning, which is why he did not go to the military recruitment office. At the same time, he considered himself unfit for military service due to vision impairments.
In addition, in March 2025, the man suffered frostbite on his legs, leading to the amputation of his lower limbs. He is currently unable to move independently.
Initially, the court sentenced him to 3 years of imprisonment. However, he was later released from serving the sentence on probation, with a probation period set for 1 year.
