The CEO of SE "Forests of Ukraine" was charged with illegal enrichment, - Kravchenko

This was reported on Facebook by Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko.

According to the prosecutor general, the figure in question is a public servant of category “A”, with special responsibility due to this status.

The official is charged under Article 368-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal enrichment).

While serving as the Head of the State Forestry Agency in 2021, the individual acquired assets worth 10.4 million UAH, exceeding lawful income. Among them is an apartment in Kyiv worth over 9 million UAH, which was registered to a proxy but was actually used by the figure.

According to the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, the difference between official income and acquired property is 7.9 million UAH.

The suspect was detained.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the State Bureau of Investigations under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General.

As noted by the prosecutor general, this is just a separate episode in dozens of criminal proceedings concerning the SE “Forests of Ukraine.”

“We are working systematically, the work continues,” Kravchenko assured.

As reported by the State Bureau of Investigations, during the pre-trial investigation it was established that only in 2021 he effectively became the owner of elite real estate in the center of Kyiv, eight land plots, cargo vehicles, and significantly increased monetary assets in bank accounts.

To conceal the real source of property acquisition, the official resorted to a complex legalization scheme involving close associates. An elite apartment in Pechersk, worth over 9 million UAH, was registered to his close friend, who was not actually involved in the purchase. All negotiations with the seller, selection of the object, contract conclusion, and settlements were conducted by the suspect’s wife, acting on behalf of the "nominal" owner.
