A border guard from Uzhhorod abandoned his weapon and crossed the border into Hungary

A border guard fled from the border with Hungary, leaving his weapon in the forest, reports Zakarpattia journalist Vitaliy Hlahola.

According to him, 29-year-old Staff Sergeant Vitaliy Huha (a native of Uzhhorod) voluntarily left his post near border marker No. 336 in Zakarpattia yesterday.

He left his weapon – an AK-74 assault rifle, a Fort-12R pistol, a bulletproof vest, special equipment, and other gear – right in the forest at his position.

Near the control strip, traces were found leading toward Hungary. Everything indicates that he illegally crossed the border.
