The Telegram channel "Trukha Ukraine" has been fined 4.8 million hryvnias for illegal advertising

The PlayCity Agency has fined the owner of the channel "Trukha Ukraine" 4.8 million hryvnias.

This was reported by the Ministry of Digital Transformation.

"PlayCity continues to combat the illegal advertising of gambling and lotteries. After monitoring popular Telegram channels, it was determined that ’Trukha Ukraine’ systematically advertised gambling in violation of the law," the report states.

PlayCity specialists discovered systematic illegal gambling advertisements and the lack of registration in the Register of Entities in the Media Sphere, which is mandatory for legal advertising. They also identified "manipulative phrases such as ’won 2,100 UAH from 100’, ’a subscriber took 17 thousand’, which are misleading."

Specialists found the absence of gambling addiction warnings and advertising without agreements with licensed organizers.

"This is the first, but not the last successful case and a signal for bloggers and Telegram channel owners. The law is the same for everyone — and every violation will have consequences. PlayCity acts decisively to protect Ukrainians from fraud," the report states.
