Agrarian magnate Yakovyshyn was buried in his own mausoleum worth 3 million dollars
In the Chernihiv region today, a farewell was held for Leonid Yakovyshyn — an agrarian who left behind not only a powerful enterprise but also a deep mark in the history of the Ukrainian village. The farewell ceremony for the Hero of Ukraine, director of LLC "Zemlya i Volya," took place in the village of Myrne.
In Bobrovytsia, where Yakovyshyn lived, a three-day mourning was declared. Black ribbons were placed on buildings, entertainment events were limited, and music at markets was banned. This decision was made by the local authorities immediately after the news of his death.
As reported from the scene by StopCor journalist Halyna Kapustynska, the body of the Hero of Ukraine, Leonid Yakovyshyn, was brought to the village in a "Mercedes" hearse. The farewell ceremony took place on the main street – people stood along the entire road. About half a thousand community representatives from Chernihiv region came to pay their respects to the agrarian.

The coffin with the body was brought to the local house of culture for bidding farewell. At the same time, security asked journalists not to enter the building territory – as explained by the guards, this was the personal wish of the deceased’s relatives.
Meanwhile, representatives of the community were allowed access to the grounds near the house of culture, but inside, only relatives and close friends were present.
Subsequently, when the coffin was brought inside the house of culture, only acquaintances or employees of Yakovyshyn were allowed to enter to lay flowers. Later, the coffin was brought back to the grounds of the house of culture, where farewell words were spoken by a friend of Leonid Hryhorovych, a regional council representative, and close relatives.
From this moment, security asked the media to stop filming, but literally 15 minutes later, the mourning ceremony ended, and the hearse departed. The funeral procession accompanied it right to the village exit.
Leonid Yakovyshyn was the founder of one of the largest agrarian enterprises in the region — LLC "Zemlya i Volya," which cultivates over 32,500 hectares of land. He was called the "builder of an empire," and the company – a "fortress" that competitors have unsuccessfully tried to weaken for many years.

He was a deputy of the first convocation, an advisor to several prime ministers, and a person who had been changing the Ukrainian village since the 1990s. Even opponents acknowledged his influence on agricultural policy.
Leonid Yakovyshyn was buried in a mausoleum that he built during his lifetime. The implementation of this idea took over 10 years and about 3 million dollars. According to the agrarian himself, he was inspired by Napoleon’s mausoleum but made his even more luxurious.

Inside the tomb are exact copies of stained glass windows from a 600-year-old church in Germany, four gilded sculptures of Yakovyshyn at the ages of 20, 40, 60, and 80. In the center is a granite sarcophagus weighing 23 tons, costing about 150 thousand dollars. During his life, the entrance to the mausoleum was guarded by armed guards, and entry was not allowed. After the owner’s death, the situation changed – now others can visit the place.
The death of Leonid Yakovyshyn is not only a personal loss for his family but also an important moment for the agrarian sector of the Chernihiv region. Experts already predict a fierce struggle for the heritage of "Zemlya i Volya," as the company is of strategic importance for the entire region.
