It seems that Russia has started the reconstruction of Donetsk airport, as reported by the Telegram channel Military Journal, based on the analysis of satellite images of the airport’s runways.

In particular, trenches have been filled. This may indicate plans to resume the airport’s operation, which was destroyed back in 2014. Additionally, construction is underway in the area near the parking lots, possibly for the installation of fuel tanks.

According to another version, Russia intends to use the airport for launching drones.

It should be noted that the current distance to the nearest front line section from the airport is approximately 35 kilometers.
