The AFU explained what is happening between Pokrovsk and Kostyantynivka: "More well-planned assaults"
The movement of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation on the approaches to the contact line near Pokrovsk does not stop. The occupiers try to move in groups of 2–3 people, on foot with backpacks on their shoulders and sometimes with stretchers.
The penetration of the Russian Armed Forces between the cities of Pokrovsk and Kostyantynivka in the Donetsk region remains one of the most significant achievements of the Russian army in the summer campaign of 2025. Because of this, Pokrovsk and Dobropillya are at risk of encirclement. At the same time, it is difficult for the occupiers to advance into Kostyantynivka.

According to their claims, the movement of the Russian Armed Forces near the contact line does not stop. The occupiers try to move in groups of 2–3 people, on foot with backpacks on their shoulders and sometimes with stretchers.
"Most likely, they are delivering supplies, maybe some ammunition or something else. This is how they move all day," notes a soldier with the call sign "Dale".
He emphasizes that in Kursk, the occupiers "went head-on," but here the assaults are more thought-out, more electronic warfare is used, as well as their FPV interceptors, which shoot down Ukrainian drones.
Another soldier, "Tykhyi," notes that despite the losses, the occupiers continue to send people.
"We destroy them — they send again, but from another angle. We destroy — from another angle. If they find a place where they can pass, they go there immediately. Like ants. They know where the ’sugar’ is, and they start gathering there," says "Tykhyi".
The soldiers say that due to the large number of enemy drones, logistics for the Defence Forces has become more complicated. The most difficult thing is to get to the position and leave it.
"There were cases when 2–3 FPVs hovered over me, and I sat without moving because I understood: if I even raise my head to see where they are flying, there is a risk that they will notice me. I try to keep myself under control and not move, so as not to give myself away," says the UAV pilot "Lutyy" with the call sign "Lyutyy".
The soldiers note that now Russian drones are already attacking the Kramatorsk-Dobropillya highway, which is an important transport artery for the Defence Forces in this direction.
"Victory for me is when I take as many enemies with me as possible while I have time left in this war, that is victory for me. And for someone else, victory is saying that we are going to take Crimea back now. We will not be able to return Crimea by military means because we have been at war for three and a half years, and our country is not very large, to begin with," says "Tykhyi".
Meanwhile, Radio Liberty noted that in July, according to the DeepState project, Russia captured 564 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory. This is almost as much as in June. Most of the Russian offensive actions were recorded in the Pokrovsk area.
