The Security Service and the National Police have uncovered a transnational channel for the smuggling and sale of cocaine in Ukraine. During the large-scale operation, 10 members of the group and their accomplice were detained.

According to the Telegram channel of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) and the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police.

According to the investigation, the participants were earning at least 16 million UAH in profit per month.

They used a professional polygraph to control couriers, and the drugs were smuggled through foreign partners.

Cocaine was distributed through their own network of couriers in the Kyiv, Odesa, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

To find clients, the participants created Telegram channels, and the delivery was made using rented cars with fake license plates.

The syndicate leaders were local recidivists with criminal experience. Couriers did not contact the organizers directly, receiving the "goods" through intermediaries.

During 58 searches, drugs, unregistered weapons, ammunition, phones, computer equipment, and rough notes were seized.

Additionally, they earned up to $500,000 per month selling cocaine during curfew hours.

The criminals used volunteer IDs, fake passes, and documents from various state institutions to deliver drugs to VIP clients.

The organizer managed all "subordinates" exclusively by phone.

A network of channels in messengers with 24/7 delivery was created to find clients.

The cost of one gram of cocaine with "night taxi" service was $250. Only at night, the criminals distributed up to 2,000 doses of cocaine, bringing in almost half a million dollars in net profit per month.

The detainees were informed of suspicion of creating and participating in a criminal organization, as well as drug trafficking.

What they face

The participants are currently in custody, facing up to 12 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out jointly with the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police under the procedural guidance of the Dnipro District Prosecutor’s Office in Kyiv.
