Russia massively attacked Ukraine with "Shaheds," "Kinzhals," "Kalibrs," and missiles from bombers

On the evening of Wednesday, August 20, the aggressor country Russia launched a new attack on Ukraine, deploying dozens of kamikaze drones and decoys. Later, it was reported that enemy strategic bombers Tu-95MS had taken off, and the adversary also used "Kinzhal" and "Kalibr" missiles to strike Ukraine. Hits were reported in Zakarpattia.

The movement of drones was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Monitoring channels reported the takeoff of two Tu-95MS aircraft from the "Engels" airfield (within the Saratov region) and one from the "Olenya" airfield (heading towards the launch zones of the Caspian region).

What is known about the RF attack

As of 00:12, groups of enemy UAVs were spotted in Sumy, Chernihiv, northern, central, and southern Kyiv regions, Vinnytsia, Kharkiv, Poltava, Cherkasy, and Zhytomyr regions.

An air alert was announced in most regions of Ukraine.

As of 00:58, nearly 100 enemy UAVs were over Ukraine.

As of 01:41, the attack continued. Groups of enemy UAVs were spotted in Chernihiv, Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Poltava, Cherkasy, northern Zhytomyr, and Rivne regions.

The alert continued to spread to the western regions.

At 02:50, an alert was announced across all of Ukraine due to the takeoff of MiG-31K aircraft, which are carriers of "Kinzhal" missiles. As a result of this attack, explosions were heard in Rivne region.

As of 03:30, the attack with "Shahed" drones continued, and Russian "Kalibr" missiles also entered Ukraine. Preliminary reports indicated that Russians had launched X-101 missiles from strategic aviation aircraft.

"Kalibr" missiles were heading towards the western regions of Ukraine. Zakarpattia, in particular, was under attack, with explosions reported.

"Shahed" drones, meanwhile, attacked Lviv, Lutsk, and Kyiv region.

Around 04:50, it was reported that cruise missiles had entered Ukrainian airspace from Sumy region. They were heading towards Poltava region.

It was reported that during the night, there was a hit on the territory of one of the enterprises in Mukachevo. Details are unknown, and relevant services were working at the site of the attack.

As of 06:30, the alert was lifted in some regions of Ukraine. At the same time, explosions were reported in Volyn region.
