The draft law by Svyrydenko on criminal liability for illegal departure was developed by the MIA

The Ministry of Internal Affairs states that it was the one who developed the draft law on criminal liability for illegal departure abroad, which was submitted to the Rada by Prime Minister Svyrydenko.

"Today, unfortunately, we are witnessing mass attempts to evade mobilization through illegal departure abroad. As practice shows, administrative fines do not deter violators. Our task is to ensure the security of the state and support its defence capability in the most challenging times," reports the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

In addition to terms for illegal departure, it is proposed to transfer the consideration of administrative cases regarding this issue to border guards— "it is faster and more efficient."

It should be noted that this year the State Border Guard Service reported a decrease in the number of unlawful attempts to leave the country.
