Suspect in Parubiy’s murder might have attempted to flee abroad — police

Law enforcement officers assume that the murder suspect of Parubiy might have planned to cross the border.

At the briefing, the question was asked whether law enforcement is aware of why the suspect was hiding specifically in the Khmelnytskyi region.

«Let me say this, we do not rule out that this person intended to leave the borders of our country illegally», — said the Deputy Head of the National Police — Chief of the Criminal Police of Ukraine Andriy Nebytov.

At this time, as he noted, one person has been notified of suspicion. There is no information yet that he might have had accomplices.

The representatives of law enforcement also did not provide a direct answer to whether the suspect confessed to the crime.

«We do not claim that he confessed», — said Nebytov.

At the same time, he emphasized that law enforcement is considering different versions regarding the motives of the crime, but the priority version remains the Russian trace.

In addition, Nebytov stated that Parubiy did not contact the police or SSU to request protection.
