Zelenskyy met with the President of the European Council in Zakarpattia

In Zakarpattia, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with the President of the European Council António Costa.

This was reported by a correspondent of Ukrinform.

«I would like to thank the President for being here today to support Ukraine. We know about your busy schedule, but you found time to support Ukraine, and I appreciate your visit to this region», Zelenskyy said.

It is expected that António Costa will speak today at the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities. «It is important for us that you are participating in the regional summit», the head of state emphasized.

He described today’s talks with the President of the European Council as «very productive», continuing discussions from yesterday’s «Coalition of the Willing» summit in Paris.

«Yesterday we attended the "Coalition of the Willing" meeting in Paris, discussing with the President of the USA and European leaders. There is a sentiment that now there is an opportunity to advance in ensuring greater security and achieving shared results for Ukraine and Europe», Zelenskyy stressed. 

He expressed gratitude to the European Union and European institutions for their active participation in developing security guarantees for Ukraine. 

«I want to emphasize that we are working on creating a security system that will operate during the war and fully deploy after it. Many details have already been worked out. 35 countries are in our "Coalition of the Willing", of which 26 are ready to participate in guaranteeing security. These are concrete measures in various areas, including cyberspace and funding our forces», Zelenskyy noted.

Also, today the President is scheduled to meet with the Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico.
