OSINT technologies made it possible to determine the location of 2,577 Ukrainian servicemen in captivity

This was stated by the Commissioner for Persons Missing Under Special Circumstances, Artur Dobroserdov, referencing the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Telegram.

During a meeting with representatives of the OSCE Moscow Mechanism’s independent expert mission, Dobroserdov stated that the overall goal is to return every Ukrainian home, considering that prisoners of war maintain the status of missing persons until their return.

He noted that OSINT methods (Open Source Intelligence) are used, through which the captivity of 2,577 military personnel has been confirmed.

Information regarding 680 individuals, including 91 civilians, has not yet been confirmed by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

There are also 8 cases where individuals identified as captives were later found among the deceased. For six of them, the ICRC has not confirmed information about their captivity.

It is expected that at the end of September, OSCE independent experts will release a report on Russia’s violations of its OSCE obligations, abuses, and human rights violations.
