The SSU has disrupted a large-scale network aiding evaders: bribes reached $12,000
The Security Service and the National Police detained 10 individuals in various regions of Ukraine who organized schemes for evading mobilization, charging sums from 2,000 to 12,000 dollars, including disguising their clients in military uniforms to cross the border.
The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) reported the dismantling of new schemes on their page.
Among the uncovered schemes:
- In the Odesa region, four schemes were immediately blocked. The organizers helped draft dodgers flee to Transnistria. "Some of the organizers, for disguise, even dressed their clients in ’pixels’ (military uniforms) to take them to the border. Others were hidden in car trunks," the report states. A local from Odesa who forged medical certificates with severe diagnoses was also detained.
- In Bukovina, two officials from the Chernivtsi Territorial Recruitment Center were detained for driving conscripts to the EU border and then "suggesting" the route for illegal crossing.
- In the Cherkasy region, an administrator of a Telegram channel was exposed, who was spreading information about the movement routes of mobile Territorial Recruitment Center groups.
- In Ternopil, a municipal enterprise employee was detained, who, using connections in the Territorial Recruitment Center, "removed" draft dodgers from search lists.
Currently, all detainees have been notified of suspicion. The perpetrators are in custody and face up to 10 years in prison.
