An incident involving police officers and a Ukrainian citizen working as a taxi driver occurred in Gdansk. A video of a roadside check, published on TikTok, has caused widespread resonance in Poland and among Ukrainians.

The taxi driver was stopped for a check after parking his car at a turn. A camera installed in his vehicle captured the police officers addressing the driver in a rude manner, using profanity, and threatening the use of force.

Following the publication of the video, the materials were officially seized and transferred to the internal control department. The commander of the Gdańsk city police decided to initiate disciplinary proceedings against the involved officers. An official statement emphasized that such behavior contradicts the values and duties of a police officer.

The check concluded with a verbal warning for the driver, but the actions of the police officers have drawn criticism. The video is being actively discussed online: the majority of users condemn the behavior of the police officers, although some opinions suggest that the situation might have been taken out of context.

Currently, the internal control department continues its investigation. If the abuse of power is confirmed, the materials will be forwarded to the prosecutor’s office, and the final decision will be made by the court.
