In the Lviv region, customs officers seized 148 iPhones worth 6 million hryvnias
Today, September 20, at the "Shehyni-Medyka" checkpoint, customs officers discovered 148 iPhones in two cars worth approximately 6 million hryvnias.
As reported by the State Customs Service, a "Renault" and a "Mercedes" arrived from Poland, driven by a 41-year-old resident of Lviv region and a 43-year-old resident of Bukovina.
During customs control, each driver declared that they were transporting "only personal belongings."
However, the scanning system immediately showed customs officers abnormal inclusions in both minibuses.
During a detailed inspection, customs officials found 49 and 99 iPhones in the luggage compartments of the vans. In the latter case, the gadgets were hidden in a specially equipped compartment.
Documentation is currently underway regarding the violation of customs regulations. The approximate value of the discovered gadgets is around 6 million hryvnias.
