In Donetsk region, FPV drone operators from the "Bulava" unmanned systems battalion struck a Russian armored vehicle Z-STS "Akhmat" along with its crew. This occurred during the movement of the vehicle when FPV drone pilots tracked the target and delivered precise strikes.

The destruction of the armored vehicle was reported by the official Telegram channel of the operational-strategic group of troops "Dnipro." The message states: "Successfully mined + a control shot to the head, Akhmat forces have left, and the assault is over." The event is also confirmed by the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Black Zaporozhyans, which released a video of the destruction.

Combat work of drones

According to the military, the vehicle caught fire and burned along with the crew. The military highlights the effectiveness of combining road mining with FPV drone strikes, which are becoming increasingly efficient in destroying enemy armored vehicles.

This incident confirmed the vulnerability of even the latest Russian armored vehicles during active combat operations in Donbas.

Details of the vehicle

The Z-STS "Akhmat" was specifically created for the war in Ukraine, based on the KamAZ-5350 in 2022 at the "Remdiesel" plant, and has been actively supplied to troops since the beginning of the aggression.

The vehicle is equipped with a 450-horsepower engine and can reach speeds of up to 100 km/h. It is actively used by Russian occupation forces during the Russian-Ukrainian war.

It is known that, to date, Ukrainian defenders have destroyed at least 47 such armored vehicles, with several others damaged.
