The Ministry of Digital Transformation has refuted information about a data leak from "Diya"
No leaks of personal data of Ukrainians from "Diya" have occurred.
This was reported by the press center of the Ministry of Digital Transformation.
"After information about a possible ’leak,’ our team conducted an investigation and found out: the circulated files are fake, do not originate from the ’Diya’ systems, and are not the result of their hacking or leakage," the statement reads.
It is also claimed that the published files are a mix of previously known ’leaks’ from commercial sources, manually edited and supplemented with fake records to make them appear as a ’fresh’ database.
"This is a typical black market practice: old leaks are ’refreshed’ with forged records to pass them off as a new massive leak and mislead people. We regard the distribution of fake files as a coordinated attempt to attack ’Diya’ and undermine trust in state services," explained the Ministry of Digital Transformation.
"We emphasize once again that ’Diya’ does not store personal data — the system operates on the data-in-transit principle: information is retrieved from state registers at the moment of request and is not accumulated in the app or on the portal.
Confirmation of this is that in March 2024, the ’Diya’ code was made public. It is openly accessible, and anyone can verify that it contains no hidden databases with citizens’ data," assured Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation Vitaliy Balashov.
