RF launched 116 drones over Ukraine at night: air defence forces neutralized 83 UAVs

In the night leading up to October 6, Russia once again attacked Ukraine from the air: the enemy deployed 116 means of aerial assault. Air defence forces neutralized 83 targets.

Impacts were recorded in several locations. Details were reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Russians began launching drones starting at 8:00 PM on Sunday, October 5.

From that time until the morning of October 6, the occupiers attacked our country with 116 strike UAVs of the Shahed, "Gerbera," and other types from the directions of Millerovo, Kursk, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as from Hvardiiske in temporarily occupied Crimea.

Aviation, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled the aerial assault.

According to preliminary data, by 9:00 AM, air defense forces shot down or jammed 83 enemy UAVs of the Shahed, "Gerbera," and other types in the northern, southern, eastern, and central parts of the country.

Impacts from 30 strike UAVs were recorded at 7 locations.

"The attack continues, with several enemy UAVs still in the airspace. Do not ignore air raid signals. Follow safety rules!" – the Air Force urged Ukrainians around 9:00 AM.

Over Dnipropetrovsk region, as reported by the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, Serhiy Lysak, air defense forces managed to shoot down 12 enemy UAVs during the night.

Meanwhile, Nikopol was attacked by the occupiers using FPV drones. The Pokrovsk community in the Synelnykivskyi district also endured a drone attack, where a private house caught fire. There were no casualties or injuries.

In Odesa region, the Russians targeted civilian infrastructure with "Shahed" drones.

"Despite the active work of air defense, impacts were recorded on the territory of a civilian industrial facility. A fire broke out at the site, which was promptly extinguished by the State Emergency Service workers. No casualties or destruction were reported," said Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional State Administration.

In Cherkasy region, nine enemy drones were neutralized during the night.

"There were no reports to emergency services about casualties or property damage. Additionally, the day before, energy workers promptly restored power to settlements that had been left without electricity due to enemy attacks," noted Ihor Taburets, head of the Cherkasy Regional State Administration.

Explosions were also heard in Kyiv region during the night. Air defense forces were active in the region, managing to shoot down some of the drones. No information was received about casualties or impacts on residential infrastructure.

However, as reported by Mykola Kalashnyk, head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration, in the Fastiv district, as a result of an enemy attack, a vehicle with a tank caught fire on the territory of a non-operational enterprise. The vehicle was destroyed. Four other cargo vehicles were damaged. The fire has been extinguished.

"Operational services continue to work on documenting and eliminating the consequences of the enemy attack," the official noted.
