The Parliament once again failed to remove the fugitive deputy Kunytskyi from the law enforcement committee.

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has once again failed to make a decision on removing the fugitive people’s deputy Oleksandr Kunytskyi from the parliamentary Committee on Law Enforcement Activities.

This was reported by MP Oleksii Honcharenko.

According to him, only 212 MPs voted in favor of removing Kunytskyi , while 226 votes were needed.

«This is just outrageous. At the last session, I proposed voting to remove Kunitskyi, but there weren’t enough votes. Now – the same thing! Let me remind you, Kunitskyi is a fugitive «servant» whose whereabouts have been unknown for almost a year,» – Honcharenko noted.

As a reminder: Kunytskyi left for a «business trip» to the USA on September 23, 2023, and has not returned since. His previous trip to Israel was also accompanied by a scandal and an investigation by the State Bureau of Investigations (SBI).

But the alternative is no better. If Kunytskyi were to be replaced, another «servant» – Oleksandr Tkachenko – would be brought into the committee. And here, too, there would be serious risks:

  •  Tkachenko tried to push amendments to draft law No. 12374-d, which effectively dismantled lifestyle monitoring (LSM).
  •  He proposed limiting LSM to only family members to avoid scrutiny of property registered to parents, in-laws, or drivers.
  •  He insisted on a ridiculously short monitoring period – 3 months.
  •  He suggested checking only the period of public service, ignoring property acquired after resignation.
