A massive drone attack: Russia launched 112 "Shahed" drones at Ukraine, air defence shot down 87

In the night against October 9, the Russian occupation army once again terrorized Ukraine with drone attacks. The invaders launched dozens of Shahed-type kamikaze drones.

The air defence forces destroyed 87 UAVs. This was reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In total, the enemy attacked Ukraine with 112 strike drones of the Shahed type and various types of imitation drones. The Russians launched UAVs from different directions: Bryansk, Oryol, Kursk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk – RF, Chauda – TOT Crimea, over 70 of them – "Shaheds".

The aerial attack was repelled by anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defence Forces of Ukraine.

According to preliminary data, as of 09:00, air defence forces shot down/suppressed 87 enemy UAVs of the Shahed type, Gerbera, and drones of other types in the north, south, and east of the country.

Hits by 22 strike UAVs were recorded at 12 locations. As of 9 a.m. on October 9, there were still several enemy drones in the airspace.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, at night and in the morning, the aggressor struck Nikopol. The enemy directed FPV drones at the city and attacked with artillery. In the evening of October 8, the Pokrovska community in the Synelnykove district was attacked by a drone by the Russian army. A private house and a gas pipeline were damaged, but there were no casualties or injuries.
