The enemy struck Sumy: cars damaged, 12 injured

On October 21, the troops of the aggressor country Russia carried out a targeted drone strike at an intersection in Sumy. As a result of the shelling, 12 civilians were injured, and there is damage.

Details of the attack were disclosed by the head of the regional military administration, Oleh Hryhorov, on Telegram. "Cars and civilian infrastructure have been damaged," he noted.

The official assured that all the injured are receiving the necessary medical assistance. All relevant emergency services were working at the site of the strike.

"The threat of repeated attacks remains. Do not ignore air raid sirens," the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration appealed to the residents.

Artem Kobzar, acting mayor of the city, clarified that the strike using an "Italmas" UAV occurred around 16:30 on Tuesday. The drone hit one of the busiest sections of the road.

More than 10 cars and a shuttle minibus were damaged, windows in apartment buildings were shattered, and power lines were also affected.

Among the injured are an elderly couple, as well as men aged 55 and 70.

A pre-trial investigation into the commission of war crimes (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) is underway. "Prosecutors, in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies, are documenting the consequences of the shelling," it is stated on the website of the regional prosecutor’s office.

As of 19:15, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine reported 12 victims.

An eyewitness to the shelling, Pavlo Rudenko, told Suspilne that he did not hear the moment of the strike—glass immediately started flying.

"At first, we didn’t even understand; it exploded, glass shattered, and the car rolled forward by inertia... My boss, who was with me, is injured; an ambulance took him. His face is badly scratched," the man shared his experience. He himself remained unharmed, receiving only a few scratches.
