In Pryluky, Chernihiv region, the police planted grenades in the houses of local entrepreneurs

"Combat grenades as an argument in ’raiding’ a business. In the city of Pryluky, Chernihiv region, police representatives plant grenades under the properties of local entrepreneurs," - with this title, a press conference was held on October 22 at the National Information Agency UKRINFORM, in which lawyer Oksana Dudenok, Pryluky entrepreneur Yaroslav Syomka, and expert of the NGO "All-Ukrainian Committee for Combating Corruption in Government Bodies" Kostyantyn Chernenko participated.

According to Kostyantyn Chernenko, in the Chernihiv region, the process of reforming law enforcement agencies is not happening at all.

"Virtually all judges, prosecutors, and heads of law enforcement structures have remained in their positions, and no cleansing of power in the law enforcement system is taking place. Among the Chernihiv and Pryluky law enforcers, there are many ’notorious’ individuals who have not punished anyone for the bloody dispersion of the Chernihiv Euromaidan, and now continue to make illegal decisions," - says Kostyantyn Chernenko.

Chernenko called the fact that police planted two combat grenades in the homes of entrepreneurs from Pryluky a precedent that did not happen even during the Yanukovych era.

"All of this happened on someone’s orders, and the goal was to illegally take over someone else’s business. The immediate organizer and executor of the illegal actions was the head of the local police, Ruslan Krakhmillets," stated Kostyantyn Chernenko.

Lawyer Oksana Dudenok said that on October 21 in Pryluky, local entrepreneur Oleksandr Hordiyenko was illegally detained and beaten with gross violations of procedural norms. During the arrest and search, a combat grenade was found in his car. The lawyer listed a number of facts of procedural law violations. Specifically, violation of the individual’s right to defense, an unmotivated court decision regarding the search, failure to provide medical assistance to the victim, and effectively illegal seizure of the client’s personal property. According to Oksana Dudenok, the defense is preparing several motions and complaints regarding the actions of Chernihiv and Pryluky judges, prosecutors, and police heads.

Yaroslav Syomka noted that "the police, prosecutor’s office, and courts of Pryluky are a single corrupt structure, which, on orders from influential persons, takes punitive actions against honest businessmen." In his opinion, the planting of grenades by the police during searches at local entrepreneurs and Ruslan Krakhmillets’ direct involvement testifies to the impunity and unrestrained behavior of police officers. "We will mobilize public protests to achieve the cleansing of corrupt power in Pryluky," - Yaroslav Syomka declared.

On October 21 in Pryluky, the police conducted searches in residences and properties to find firearms. During the searches and detentions, two combat grenades were discovered. One of the entrepreneurs was injured. According to public activists, the grenades were planted by the police themselves to discredit and take over the businesses of local entrepreneurs on the orders of influential persons.
