Zelenskyy said when the European Union will begin actual accession negotiations with Ukraine
Ukraine expects the next stage of rapprochement with the European Union to take place in June.
RBC-Ukraine reports this with reference to a statement by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
“I also just spoke with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen. We are actively preparing for June the next stage of rapprochement with the European Union - we are waiting for the approval of the negotiating framework and the actual start of negotiations on Ukraine’s accession,” the president said.
He noted that Ukraine and Ukrainians deserve to begin actual accession negotiations. Moreover, Zelenskyy emphasized that the European Union also needs this step.
“The European Union needs this step - not just politically needed. This is the lifeblood of the European Union - to be such a European project that leaves no one outside the European Union. No one who truly professes European values,” the head of state concluded.
