Dmytro Kuleba explains what lies behind Putin’s words about his readiness to end the war
Russia is spreading anonymous statements about Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin’s alleged readiness to freeze the war in order to disrupt the Peace Summit. Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba believes that the Russian leader is afraid of its success.
He wrote about this on his page on the social network X, formerly known as Twitter. “Why are Russian “sources” suddenly telling the media that Putin is ready to stop the war on the current line of contact? It’s very simple. Putin is desperately trying to disrupt the Peace Summit in Switzerland. He is afraid of its success,” the minister noted.
Kuleba said Putin’s cordon is spreading false signals of readiness for a ceasefire while the Russian army continues its aggressive actions in Ukraine.
He stressed that at the moment Putin does not intend to stop the aggression. Only a principled and united position of the world community can force it to choose peace instead of war.
“Only a principled and united voice of the world majority can force him to choose peace over war. This is what the Peace Summit is designed to achieve. That is why he is so afraid of it,” Kuleba emphasized.
The Foreign Minister noted the importance of the presence of the maximum number of leaders from around the world at the Peace Summit.
“When the whole world speaks out in support of restoring the full force of the UN Charter and international law, Russia will be forced to make a choice in favor of peace,” he concluded.
