The Ministry of Defence explained under what circumstances the subpoena will be sent by mail
In Ukraine, after July 16, summonses will be sent by regular mail. This will happen after the statutory period of 60 days for clarification of military registration data has expired.
The speaker of the Ministry of Defence Dmytro Lazutkin announced this on air “1+1”.
“Summons will indeed be sent by registered mail after July 16. The summons is considered served if the person signs personally, then yes,” he said.
In addition, Lazutkin explained the algorithm for serving subpoenas by mail after July 16.
“A registered letter arrives, the person either receives it against signature, or refuses it again against signature, or it is returned and thus again it is considered that it was delivered...” said Lazutkin.
The speaker also clarified that if the person liable for military service was not physically present and the summons is returned, then the mechanism of an administrative offense is triggered.
