Zelenskyy opposed negotiations with the Russian Federation

Zelenskyy opposes negotiations with Russia to end the war in Ukraine.

He announced this at a United Nations Security Council meeting.

«This war cannot just «quiet down». Therefore, it cannot be stopped with mere talks. Actions are necessary… Russia can only be forced into peace. And that is exactly what needs to happen – to make Russia move toward peace», – the Ukrainian president noted.

Zelenskyy’s key message is that the conflict can only be resolved based on his proposed Peace Formula.

«The path to a just peace is one – concrete steps that everyone understands, and this is documented in the Peace Formula», – he added.

«We know that some countries want to engage in dialogue with Putin. We are aware of this. Meet, talk, discuss. But what can they hear from him? How upset he is that we are exercising our right to defend our people? Or that he wants to continue the war and terror so that no one thinks he made a mistake?» – the president said.
