In the night of October 6, sky defenders repelled a drone attack by Russia on the capital of Ukraine. All the "Shaheds" were shot down, and Kyiv avoided the consequences of the enemy attack.

This information was reported by the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA), Serhiy Popko. He noted that the city announced an air alarm three times, which lasted a total of five hours.

"At night, the enemy again used their drones against Kyiv! Russian drones approached the capital of Ukraine in waves and from different directions," the official commented on the explosions in the city that night.

According to him, thanks to the forces and means of air defense, all Russian UAVs detected in the airspace over Kyiv and on the city’s outskirts were neutralized. The exact number and type of drones will be disclosed by the Air Force.

Preliminary reports indicate that the city avoided damage, and no information about casualties was received.

"I thank all residents of Kyiv and city guests who conscientiously follow safety rules and go to shelters when an air alert is announced! Take care of yourselves!" added the head of the KCMA.
