In Lviv, an official of the district TRC was caught taking a bribe

Today, October 26, an official of the district Territorial Recruitment Center was detained in Lviv on suspicion of offering an unlawful benefit to an authorized person for conducting an inspection.

This was reported by the Western Region Specialized Prosecutor’s Office.

«According to the investigation, the suspect tried to ’bribe’ an authorized person for $2,000 to avoid holding his subordinate, a senior soldier, accountable for being intoxicated at the workplace. The military officer was detained while providing the full amount of the bribe under Article 208 of the Ukrainian Criminal Procedure Code. He has currently been given a preventive measure in the form of detention with the right to post bail. The involvement of other individuals in the crime is being investigated», the report says.

It is noted that the 44-year-old district military commissariat official has been notified of suspicion for offering an unlawful benefit for an action in the interests of a third party by an official using the power or position granted to them, with prior conspiracy by a group of persons (Part 3, Article 369 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code).

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Main Department of National Police in the Lviv region with the operational support of the Department of Strategic Investigations in Lviv region of the National Police of Ukraine, in cooperation with the Military Law Enforcement Service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and with the assistance of the leadership of the Lviv Regional Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center.

The official faces a sentence of 4 to 8 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property or without such.
