FSB spotter received 10 years in prison: she directed Russian missiles at Kharkiv

An FSB RF spotter, who used selfies to guide Russian missiles on Kharkiv and her native village Dovzhyk of Bohodukhiv district, received ten years of imprisonment. For masking, the woman deleted files after each communication session with the enemy special service and constantly changed phones, but was still detected.

This was reported on October 29 by the SSU and Office of the Prosecutor General. According to the investigation, in the summer of 2022, the suspect directed Russian missiles at a Kharkiv energy industry plant in Ukraine where she worked.

To guide the strike, she took a selfie against the background of the industrial object and sent the photo to the enemy.

Also using selfies, the informant directed air attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops defending Kharkiv.

For masking, the woman deleted files after each session of communication with the FSB and also constantly changed phones.

However, SSU officers exposed her and in August 2023 detained her when she was preparing new coordinates for a fire strike.

The suspect had a phone seized that she used for correcting air strikes in the Kharkiv region.

According to the investigation, the resident of the Kharkiv region came into the occupiers’ focus during her trip to Moscow even before the start of the full-scale invasion. She also quite often traveled to Belgorod and never hid her pro-Russian stance.

After February 24, 2022, an FSB representative remotely contacted the woman and offered her cooperation.

Prosecutors proved that the resident of the village Dovzhyk, Bohodukhiv district, maintained contact with the FSB and under the enemy’s instructions, transmitted information about the location of Ukrainian military in the village.

Based on the investigation materials of the SSU, the court found her guilty under part 3 of article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Unauthorized dissemination of information about the locations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine under martial law and for selfish motives).

The investigation was conducted by SSU officers in Kharkiv region under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor’s office.
