In Pryluky, police dismantled a criminal group involved in drug distribution

Investigators of the regional police, based on the materials of the Department of Internal Security of the National Police of Ukraine, exposed the systematic activity of residents of Pryluky city in the illegal distribution of narcotic substances throughout Ukraine. The offenders were taken into custody and charged.

This was reported by the Police of the Chernihiv region.

The police of Chernihiv region, in collaboration with operatives from the Department of Internal Security of the NPU, received information about a Telegram channel originating from Pryluky that was involved in the distribution of narcotic substances, specifically cannabis extract, throughout Ukraine.

During the operational processing of the received information, the police documented a number of facts of illegal activities by the channel’s administrators. Police established that two residents of Pryluky, aged 26 and 24, were systematically purchasing narcotic substances, storing them, and using their Telegram channel to receive orders from "clients," subsequently selling them through postal shipments to different regions of Ukraine.

As a result of the documentation, the police detained both offenders in accordance with Article 615 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Simultaneous sanctioned searches were conducted at their residences and a number of other locations.

During the investigative actions, police discovered and seized a range of physical evidence, which indicates both the fact of the channel administration by the detained of an illegal nature and their direct involvement in illegal drug operations. The seized items were sent for expert examination.

Investigators of the Chernihiv police, in agreement with the prosecutor of the Chernihiv Special Prosecutor’s Office in the Defence Sphere of the Central Region, announced charges against the detainees for repeatedly committing illegal acquisition, storage, shipment, and sale of a narcotic substance with restricted circulation - cannabis extract, by prior conspiracy by a group of persons (Part 2, Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The offenders face 6 to 10 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The court chose detention as a preventive measure for both suspects.
