Police officer and entrepreneur brutally beat up a young man in Poltava, - media

In Poltava, an entrepreneur and a police officer brutally beat a young man who tried to defend his girlfriend.

It is reported that the incident occurred on November 2 in one of the local restaurants. A girl who was spending time with her boyfriend attracted the attention of a group of four men, including an entrepreneur and the head of the district police department. The police officer approached them and said, "Girl, you will come with us."

When the young man stood up for his girlfriend, the men began to beat him right in the restaurant, as a result of which his nose was broken and his kidneys were injured — the injured man was taken by ambulance.

Security company employees arrived at the scene but did not intervene in the conflict. Later, the restaurant owner refused to provide the police with video recordings from surveillance cameras, having received threats.

The State Bureau of Investigations (SBI) will handle the open criminal case, and the police officer involved in the attack has been suspended from duty pending an internal investigation.
