Zelenskyн held talks with NATO Secretary General Rutte
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, on Tuesday, December 10, held talks with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, during which they discussed joint efforts to achieve a just peace in 2025. The main focus was on coordinating positions ahead of the planned negotiations in December, security guarantees for Ukraine, and strengthening Europe’s role in ensuring stability.
Zelenskyy reported this on his Telegram channel. The head of state emphasized that achieving peace requires determination and unity of the international community.
Zelenskyy informed Rutte about his recent meetings with US President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris. The President of Ukraine emphasized the importance of Trump’s determination in supporting global security.
"We are trying to provide as much detail as possible to our partners to ensure the establishment of lasting and reliable peace. The decisions made today must work in the long term," Zelenskyy noted.
During the talks, the president also highly appreciated Emmanuel Macron’s position, which aligns with the pan-European approach to strengthening security. Zelenskyy emphasized the necessity of a unified and clear position of Europe that will help protect the interests of all European countries.
"Peace should be our common success – Ukraine, America, Europe, and all our partners," Zelenskyy stressed.
The parties agreed to intensify contacts and hold regular meetings to coordinate effective solutions. Special attention was paid to the future negotiations in December, which will be an important stage in coordinating international efforts to end Russian aggression in 2024.
"Only Putin wants this war – no one else. We must do everything to prevent him from killing any longer," added the President of Ukraine.
Both leaders emphasized that achieving a just peace requires joint efforts of all interested parties, as well as determination and unity of the international community.
